We got to the Marina parking lot from off the trail around 7:30 or so and noticed an SUV had been broken into, Tripp called it in. I know we have all been told break-ins are happening, just making everyone aware it happened in broad daylight, with about 5 or 6 other cars in the lot with it.

That really sucks. Was it someone's car that was with you all on the ride? Not that it really matters, sucks either way.

Yeah, my car was next in line to it. Freaked me out....

Sometimes it's better to leave it unlocked, especially if you own a rag-top Jeep.

it would be cool if the city would put up the solar powered cameras like they have at the old battleground lot.

it may help to at least keep some of these punks away. cameras and a sign that says this lot is under video surveillance.

Yea, even, if at the very least they put up a fake camera, and just a sign, most folks would be deterred. Kinda like thos police departments that just put an empty patrol car along the road, sure slows me down.

As we talked about at the scene, There was alot of money hanging off vehicles there in terms of bike racks, spare parts etc..So dont think they are targeting bicyclist in general, possibly just the nicer cars. Maybe its good my wife drives the nice car and I drive the POS every where I ride.

We just had a still camera stolen. $6K plus loss to taxpayers.
