lol! No. There really wasn't any story to this, altho I am grateful I wasn't pitched over the handlebars. I can cross the creek just fine. That's so fun. We were on the other side of the creek riding along, hadn't even gotten to the old shack, when I ran over one of those little twiggly branches that are laying all over the trails. I've run over many with no problem. This one was possessed. I felt the chain grab, heard the crunch of the twigs and I hopped off the bike. ??? The damage was already done. I'm still shaking my head over it. So, they're replacing the derailleur with a new one and trying to straighten out the bent spokes. The guy at the shop told me this happens all the time. In all the years I've been riding, this is the first time it's happened to me.

I guess I'll be riding my old Diamondback hardtail tomorrow. That'll be different. Cages instead of clips. I'll probably fall trying to kick out of them.

You sure it wasn't a really dry horse pie Sorry to hear about the mishap. I had an incident with a stick at CP in the Fall but was lucky only to have to replace the hanger. Good to have a backup with this nice weather.
